- It seems like my external AT&T DataPort 14.4K modem is always, ALWAYS
- hanging up on me, espcially when I'm doing file transfers or Netscape via
- SLIRP. Netscape is the worst offender - it will go for 3 to 5 minutes
- (sometimes not even that long) before the modem disconnects.
-
- Here's my setup:
-
- LC II, ZTerm 1.0.1, Netscape 1.12, MacPPP, hardware-handshaking cable
-
- - Zterm runs at 19200, N-8-1, Hardware handshaking.
- Init. string: AT &F &C1 X4 S11=55
- - SLIRP runs on an AIX UNIX machine using an MTU and MRU of 1500,
- baudrate of 57600
- - MacPPP uses a port speed of 57600, flow control of CTS and RTS, and
- other default settings (Max Receive units of 1500 for local and remote)
-
- Is the problem that I'm using an "IBM" DataPort modem instead of a "Mac"
- one? Should the Init string be changed? Or should I be starting Zterm
- at 57600 like SLIRP/MacPPP? Or lower SLIRP/MacPPP to 19200?
-
- Thanks to anyone who can help!
